Atria Finland Meat Business

Atria Plc has been selling meat in Finland for more than a hundred years. Atria Plc’s roots go back to 1903, when our first deal in the meat business was made. Atria has accumulated knowledge and skills in meat, meat processing and the meat trade for several generations now, the long history bearing witness to our success and earning the customers’ trust. We are the biggest and leading meat-processing company among all the meat wholesalers in Finland. Nearly half of all the pigs, cattle and poultry reared for slaughter in Finland are grown on our contract farms located in various parts of the country. Our modern processing facilities meet the requirements of even the most demanding customers and consumers. We sell meat and related products in all forms, and our customers include a number of Finland’s top food industry companies.

We started to export meat already in the 1970s, and today export is one of the mainstays of our meat trade. The most important areas of export are our neighbouring countries. In addition to export to surrounding areas, we sell tailor-made products ordered by customers in selected markets all over the world. Our most important export areas are Sweden, Russia, the Far East and the Baltic countries. The turnover of Atria’s wholesale and export trade is nearly 80 million euros, which is approximately 10% of the turnover of Atria Finland.
